These are compounded — mixed for one patient by a 503A pharmacy rather than manufactured and FDA-approved. That is only lawful when the commercial product genuinely will not work for you, so your nurse practitioner has to document a specific clinical reason before one can be prescribed. Cost and convenience are not reasons. You can ask for one here, but it may not be what you are approved for.
